Girl Power
Girl Power is a new afterschool program for our girls in 4th and 5th grade. The focus is on building fitness and confidence through a variety of activities such as cycling, dance, yoga, hiking, aerobics, and recreational sports. We also discuss the importance of taking care of our body, regulating our emotions and becoming a person with great character.
25 young ladies are a part of Girl Power along with mentors Ms, Smith, Ms. Cupp, Ms. Shifflett, Ms. Harter, Ms.Tutwiler, Ms. Windsor, Ms. Phelps and Ms. Gabi Saylor. We've had a great time cycling, learning about dog training with Ms. Haldane, cooking with Ms. Smith, practicing football and frisbee skills and much more! Outside guests are coming to share aerobic dance, yoga, karate and healthy diets. The JMU softball team is coming twice! We also look forward to two local field trips to Mulligan's Golf Center and a local hiking trail. Exciting things as we learn and grow together!
